[[Filtered to Ancient Runes students]]To those of you who will be here this morning for your first exam of the week, good luck. Just think, another few hours and it will all be over.~ Other years will have to wait a day or even two before coming to this point; try not to exhaust yourselves with anticipation. Scholastically speaking, I would call ( Read more... )

If students are still worried at this point, then they'll fail no matter what they do between now and the exam. I, for one, am rather looking forward to the challenge.

Personally, I expect all my students to pass with flying colours.

I shall look forward to seeing your work, then.

I plan to do just that. Is there anything in particular that I should keep in mind for the exam?

Excellent. It's always good to watch how Anglo-Saxon grammar changes between different eras; some of the evolutions are as drastic as those in the alphabets themselves, and can mean as much difference to the translation.

(Aaahh! Oh man I hope that pic is a shop and someone didn't actually do that to that poor Sphinx kitty! O_O)

(DX Yeah... I'm pretty sure it's a shop; there are blurs around the tail and some of the wrinkles don't fall right.~)

Thank you, Professor. Admittedly, this class is the one that I'm concerned about.

[And by stressing, she means she could get an E and not an O. What a tragedy.]

Oh? Anything I could clarify?

[[XD!]]

Nothing in particular, I don't think. I just feel as though Ancient Runes work is more time-consuming, which could present troubles.

Ah. Well, that is true: at its best it's as painstaking as any drafting exercise. A steady hand does help, though.

You will find him with the tapestries near the Trophy room.

[meaning Castiel saw mr.kitty and simply watched for a while before walking away.]

Oh, is that where he's been? Goodbye tapestries, then. Thanks; it's good to know he's still in the castle.

*meanwhile Marco finishes his "work" on the tapestries and, bored, wanders off in the general direction Castiel's taken*

The tapestries have been... damaged, yes.

[Go away kitty, Cas isn't in an 'allowing' mood ever today.]

*facepalm* I used to be a dog person, you know. In life I was always a dog person. They do this thing where they actually pay attention when you tell them to get away from the furniture.

*eh, Marco just feels like wandering; surely it's coincidence that he's following Cas, right? Right?*

You have quite a... unique cat.

And quite a unique list there as well.

[OOC - Spencer has a PhD in Ancient Runes, so maybe he might understand some of the stuff on that list there? If you want him to.]

He's interesting, isn't he? Adopted me after I came to Hogwarts. He's his own animal, of course; quite different from the hounds I used to keep. Mind of his own like nothing I've ever seen.

[[Filtered to Spencer]]

*innocently* ..list? What list?

[[Hmm, it's really heavily locked, but maybe he can see that something interesting is there? XD This plot's still very much in planning stages. He's researching wizarding executions from about six hundred years ago. His own's among them, but he hasn't gotten to it yet.]]

He adopted you? Did you find him in the castle? It seems like someone might wonder about the whereabouts of such a cat if it happened to be their's...

The one right there of various runes. It's difficult to make out though... your scrawl is nearly illegible. Although I can see aeternum... so it has something to do with eternity.

[[Spencer sometimes has trouble taking hints, so don't mind him LOL. I think I'm actually going to change his PhD to Arithmancy.. I was trying to find the best wizarding equivalent to Mathematics and at first Arithmancy seemed too much like Divination, but I think it would be a better fit than Runes. Still, he'd probably have a running knowledge of runes because he reads. A LOT.]]

He'd apparently hauled himself in from the outside despite a broken back -- we're not sure what happened to him; it may have been an Acromantula attack, as he seems to hate spiders. I was the one who found him -- a nice surprise for a rainy morning. *wince* Our former Professor of Illusions lent a hand in treating him and he eventually recovered, but we could never find his owner -- anyone who'd abandon a hairless cat in this climate deserves to lose it, in my opinion ( ... )
