Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable, but in the end is right
I hope you had the time of your life...
- Green Day
You know what's wierd? Although the song was about a personal (love) relationship, the lyrics work for other kinds of relationships, too, like jobs...
I got laid off yesterday.
Now I'm doing fine, I'm not really sad. It's just that my mind races at 100 miles an hour all the time about stuff I want to do. Job stuff. Home stuff. Music stuff. Computer stuff. Family stuff. Yard work.
I just have to settle down and do it.
All in all, I had a good day, though. Set up a Yahoo group for my group to use (you see, we were all laid off together).
On my Linux box, I experimented with
Firefox and
Thunderbird, but in the end decided to stick with the
Mozilla that came with Fedora Core 1, and to use
Evolution for email and contact management (BTW, it was super easy to export my Yahoo address book and then import it into Evolution). The guys that put the Fedora distro together knew what they were doing.
