I seem to be the only one I know of so far that got almost no panels from the ones I requested (I only requested three, so my pool was tiny to begin with...). Everyone else I know has been complaining of getting TOO many *heh*
Basically I just used what I learned from last year, i.e. I used broad criteria rather than narrow ones for the panels I was interested in. By indicating an interest in as many as possible, I figured that I'd improve the chance of getting more panels.
But if EVERYONE says they have too many panels...hmm. Interesting.
By the way, I'd think you could tell Programming now that you'd be interested in doing more panels; if some people are complaining about being overbooked, there's probably a lot of wiggle room available. None of the panels I'm on has more than four panelists total, so I would guess Programming could probably put you on more.
Heck, I'm the only person booked for the RQ panel! Although I suspect that they'll end up canceling it. :(
