Valentine's Day

I've been reading questions on Advicenators, and as you might guess, about a million of them are from clueless teens angsting over Valentine's Day.

That day was a source of torture for me between the ages of seven and thirty-three (and there was one year in college that was particularly hellish). Now it's only painful, although at least some of ( Read more... )

Ahahaha! Ah...

Peanuts is such a great comic, though I found it boring when they are placed side by side with Garfield...

but it's a great quote like this that reminds how awesome Charlie Brown is<3 (it is by Charlie Brown..right?)

Aw..well. Happy Valentine's day to you, anyway! Hopefully, this year will be a nice one for you?

Yup, it was Charlie Brown. Boy, did I identify with him when I was growing up!

In its final 5-10 years or so Peanuts got kind of stale, I think (hmm, that metaphor amuses me), but in the early and mid period it was often excellent, and at times simply awesome.

There was something...a certain quirkiness of outlook that really worked. I remember one time when Linus was walking around, being a dinosaur. He walked up to try and scare Lucy with a fierce open mouth and his hands up, like claws. She looked at him and immediately assumed the same position. Then they both turned and went off, as dinosaurs, presumably to scare someone else.

You probably had to see it to get the humor, but I've never forgotten that strip. I wish I still had it!

This Valentine's Day should be okay, assuming that I remember to get two cards - one from me, and one from Sebastian. :D

Thanks for reminding me. I hope you have a great Valentine's Day too!
