Well, I am going out in a bit to meet up with some of my fellow researchers. So, I will have a slightly better grasp of that later.
Seattle reminds me of San Francisco, the neighborhoods change form residential, to commercial in the blink of an eye.
Also, I saw 17 Starbucks on my bus trip this morning. (Yes, I counted).
The bus was very clean. And so far, the people seem nice. I have Friday off, so I am going to try to wake up early enough to go to that Pike Place joint where they throw the fish. That should be fun.
So far, I really like it. Lots of seafood. and I mean LOTS of seafood. There is 1 Starbucks for every 1.4 people, i think (my math may be a touch off), and it seems that there is one small local coffee shop every couple of blocks as well.
So, you're good on salmon and coffee. I have not done as much exploring as I have wanted to, because I am also looking for a place to live, but I am getting a good feel for neighborhoods. I want to do some museumy stuff soon (seriously, I am going to miss being a short drive [Western short, not Eastern, where out west we wouldn't blink at driving 100-200 miles to do something, back east they consider that a "big trip".] from the Smithsonian)
Oh! and it seems that they do not burn down their city when their local sports teams win a championship. Which is nice.

Man, I've only been in the airport at Seattle, I really want to actually visit the city someday. Let us know how you like your new digs!
