kitty lost her powers in "just a couple of kids"? oh no.. i have t do some research..

When I read that fic, I had started reading comics only recently so I was clueless about all that stuff. Basically, there was something called the High Evolutionary that disabled the mutants' powers. They were without powers for six months, but that period was not covered in the comics, so the fic takes place during the gap left by canon. A good source for all the X-men history is uncannyxmen.net.
