(intnded edit:) I don't think we can return to Eden, or even to a facsimile of it. Nor do i think we can return to innocence, though each new generation and each new moment in the life of each person contains that possibility. But we can recover some of our innocence by learning from those who discovered or remembered or never forgot what a pristine life was like. This is why i want to focus on: 1) philosophical Taoism, 2) the authentic words of Jesus (insofar as i can believe what they were), 3) Mahayana Buddhism, and 4) sacred poetry. These things pull me back IMPPO to what i was, ans to what i basically am.

So my new year's resolution is to:
1) cling to these four resources as best i can,
2) love my family and friends as best i can, and
3) ignore all the extraneous stuff (religion, politics, economics, etc.) as best i can.
