You forgot the Deus Ex flick they're making. Which I think will fall flat simply because you can't live up to that kind of legend on-screen.
For conversation's sake, I think it's not really a factor of there not being enough original ideas (there's still some to be done, really), it's a problem of Hollywood being far too commercialized. Occasionally, an original idea or a good remake will fall through the cracks and wind up a blockbuster (Matrix, Saw), but Hollywood has this way of jumping on that Next Big Thing and milking it for all it's worth. How many movies put in an unneccessary bullet-timed moment for the sake of it, after Matrix came out? Way too many. So, again, it's not that there's not any ideas left, it's that Hollywood's becoming a victim of itself.
Personally, if I was a writer that wrote up a screenplay that was actually original and I had to watch it suddenly blow up big time and get a lot of visibility, I'd then feel sorry for starting a trend. Because that's just how it works in Ripoffwood.
Blue Orchid has to be the most annoying song ever. But god damn it all, Jack made that guitar line so fucking infectious that I have to love it. So everytime I hear it I think ""AHH! SO ANNOYING! But can't-stop-LISTENING!" {hit back button} "SON OF A--!" You have no idea how much that fucks with my mind.
