Yeah - difficult to factor in is the enviornmental cost, too. It may not seem like much per person, but there's a lot of people driving

Not an error, but a pretty egregious omission:

You didn't factor in that the faster you go, the greater the chance that you, Will Lowry, will die a grisly and painful death in a fiery automobile accident. So, you know...Bonus.

Drag is proportional to the square of the velocity. They're probably using a local linear extrapolation.
