Re: #2 -- Johnson actually wrote a sequel to BE specifically about the African-American experience in Atlantic City. It's called The Northside.

#3 -- I need to be working on that Fashion by Nucky picspam. Maybe I should wait until the season's over and just do one huge, comprehensive post.

#5 -- The one thing I've been worrying about regarding Margaret, since Van Alden's thing with her ribbon, is that they're going to turn her into the pure, shiny, soft-focused object that some of the male characters kind of cluster around, wide-eyed and longing. A bit like Sookie Stackhouse in "True Blood." But unlike Sookie, I really like Margaret and hope they continue to let that steeliness they're just hinting at to truly blossom.

Thanks for the info on Nelson's next book, I just found a short article where it's mentioned.

I haven't counted, but Nucky averages, what, five wardrobe changes per episode? (I read that the real Nucky had over 100 tailored suits, and had a penchant for lavender and chocolate. What a dandy!)

In those interviews with Kelly Macdonald, she hints at something more about Margaret that we're not seeing yet. I don't think she'll be the Object of Purity -- though she might be looked at that way by the other characters -- but she might actually come to the point where she'll see both Nucky and Van Alden as people she could use to her own advantage.
