Aww. So sorry, B! :-)

I'm holding out for the next generation of ebooks, or at least until other models appear over here.

You're the sensible one. I just love the idea of having 1500 books in my purse...

Heh. Oh, I love that idea too, don't get me wrong. It's just that I want to be able to compare screen readability before I make up my mind; I don't really like to read long screeds on my computer screen and I'm told that these new contraptions are better, but I still want to see for myself before committing. And I like the smell and feel of paperbacks. And the quiet absence of electrical humming, whirring or whining. Also, I'm sometimes quite parsimonious.

I'm not even going to try with Canoodia. It's always a disappointment. The bilingual language laws mean that stuff is screened coming in and very little is available to us electronically. (If it's not available in both languages, forget it).

It's even more unfair to you, coz your an English speaker and geographically a mere spit away....

But it's the emotional up and down that gets to me. Fake promises! Snake oil!

Bummer. If the reader is available maybe the material available will follow?

That is the more sensible line of thinking, of course. I do hope it will turn out to be the case. I was just so hopeful for a few minutes....
