There is a strange comfort in certainty, even if this time it is the certainty that in 6 or so months time you'll be made redundant. This time there is no selection process, no interviews for your own job, and no decisions on taking voluntary. They have fired a cannon ball and taken the lot of us with one strike, its an awful lot less stressful
