... *long, drawn-out, dejected sigh*...

... hey kids.

Sorry I haven't been updating lately.  Or commenting, for that matter.  It's all the result of my bro staying on the comp nearly 24/7 and the fact that I've been rather down lately.  First off, let me preface the story by saying that I've been pretty lonely over here.  Shorty and Sara (bro and stepsis) pretty much lock themselves up ( Read more... )

no... alex, honey, its not wrong to have female friends at all. but you have to understand that we girls get extremely insecure if another woman gets to close to our man, especially if the relationship is young, and the people in the relationship are young. kimmie is just scared of loosing you. she needs to know that she isnt going to. do something sweet for her, spend some good genuine time together, even if it is just a very long phone conversation if that is all you can handle because you cant be together at the moment... are you still in singapore? i cant remember.
she needs to know you are still very much devoted to her, she needs to hear this from you, and whatever you tell her, let it come genuinely, in the moment, dont plan anything, let your heart do the talking.
she is just afraid, and probably missing you. that brings out insecurities, and dont forget, that women often read into things if there is even the tiniest sliver of room for us to.
hope that helps?

Wow. Tremendous help. Really. I must thank you for this! =D

You make some very excellent points about reassuring Kimi. I feel like you just pointed out the best solution possible, one that I was probably blind to. Thanks again.

Oh, and yes. I'm still in Singapore. Back on August 17th! =)

hehehe. no problem. after trying recently, very unsuccesfully, to communicate something of this nature to my now no longer boyfriend, i am glad that you understand what i am talking about. when i tried to explain it to him, he didnt get it. most guys dont have any clue about this kinda thing that women sometimes forget that you dont think of. we assume that you will, and assumptions are dangerous, even worse, are expectations that you will know, or understand... and forgetting to just explain the reason why we suddenly turn into jealous nazi freakazoid girlfriends.
hehehe.
anyway, if it doesnt help, let me know, ill have a chat with her. but i think it will. :) anytime you need girl advice like that, let me know. :)

Argh... you're right, assumptions can be very dangerous.

Again, thanks for the help, and an even GREATER thanks in advance for any help I may need! =D

Uhhh...what she said. yumashinto July 5 2005, 19:50:06 UTC
Curses. Missed my chance to be the supportive friend.

Ah well. As long as someone was.

At any rate, I agree whol heartedly. While 5 months is pretty long, at the same time it's a pretty short incrament of time when you consider the grand scheme of long relationships.

As autumnroyale (which is a cool SN btw) stated, more than likely she is just nervous and misses you terribly. I know for a fact that right now I miss the HELL out of Heather, and if I found out she were hanging out with a guy, I'd probably react in a similar manner. Of course, I'm also the jealous type. XD

Regardless, once again previously stated, show her you care and no other woman means as much to you as she does.

SO...I'm just repeating her. Sorry. Good luck amigo. Oh, and here, have a cherry. ^_^

Thanks Alex. Even though, as you said, much of your comment has already been said, it still means a lot to me. =)

Oh, and thanks for the cherry! =D

Okay I am a female, and I don't think its wrong to have female friends in a relashionship. But maybe thats because I don't ever want my b.f or g.f jelous that I hang around with mainly guys.

Seriously If she says she could finally trust you, then she should trust you and not worry. She contradicting her self.

Me my self would go with the friend any way, because when people are stupid and are acting childish I love to piss them off.. but thats just me right.

damn it, im only left with one point which hasnt been already stated. curse my job for not letting me comment first.

dont forget to reflect on how you would feel if the situation ... or any situation that your girlfriend gets hurt over or upset about ... was reversed. i know that you should be able to trust a girlfriend or a boyfriend of five months, or even six months in my case, but its the other people who cannot be trusted ... like this lonely (possibly very hot) 20 year old girl you speak of. i assume in your girlfriend's head, this chick is regestered as possible competition, which a girlfriend of 5 months should not have to stress about. and the fact that you are in a different country even makes things harder.

Excellent point, and I do my best to take a look at the situation from the other person's perspective in all situations.

Thanks for the help, Maddie. Greatly appreciated. =)

Even though I've never been in a relationship with you, I know you well enough to know how you are in relationships. You've always been the type to befriend females rather easily, yet, you remain loyal to your girlfriend. Everyone else gave you very good advice, and here is a little bit more: don't leave her out of the loop. Tell her everything. If you hang out with this girl, tell Kimi that you're going to and what you'll be doing. Reassure her that nothing is going to happen. Any of your friends can attest to that. When Kimi goes to Singapore in August, definitely introduce her to this girl, especially if you start hanging out with her more.

Good idea with introducing Kimi to the girl. And I do keep her in the loop, which is how she found out about it all. Thanks for the advice! =)
