My voice lesson on Friday sucked far less. What he's telling me to do is finally making sense, but it doesn't make the previous lesson suck any less (seriously, I almost wanted to give up singing, except I knew I wouldn't). I.e., the tendency when you sing high is to pull up. Tension in the chest, loss of low breath support, pushing from the throat, etc.
So before I go up, I remind myself to release low, inhale low, and think low so that the tension doesn't creep in. :D
