If you can, I think you might go to the doctor/urgent care. I would be concerned about potentially perforating your intestines, though maybe I'm being overly paranoid myself, but hey. Butter safe than sorry.
It would be wise to see a doctor about it. Since obviously your body is going to treat it as a foreign object (which it is) it will try to get it out the 'natural' way, and since it's a bar there's a chance it might lie horizontally and get stuck somewhere which might cause a blockage. So it would be good to see a doctor about it, an xray might show where it is and the doctor would tell you what's the right/best thing to do.
i'm interested to know how this turned out for you. i did the same thing - swallowed a 14ga 1" barbell shaft with one ball attached - in the late 90s. mine came out fine (i made sure to locate it so i wouldn't have to worry) & i expect yours did too, but i am curious.
I was fine too - I was also advised to 'locate' it. I ended up not going to hospital - I just had far too much university work - but the NHS website said I should keep an eye on myself and if I was in any pain go right away.
I toyed with the idea of keeping it but didn't in the end - I know what I'm like and it would have most likely ended up in my regular jewellery collection D=
