Not my fandom but that does sound like a great premise for a story...

I've been wanting to write something like this for a while now. I inherited wartime letters between my grandparents and ever since I read them I wanted to tell a story about people connected by words. It's so fragile and yet so many existed that way during the war. I wish I could do it more justice than fanfiction.

Maybe you can use the fanfic as a spring board for something more biographical?

Well, my grandparents' story is VERY complicated (1 grandmother, 2 grandfathers) and also with large holes in it. Grandma gave the letters to me because her son (my Dad) wasn't interested in the history. She never talked about it and the records are spotty. She's no longer around to ask about the details. I'd either have to make up a lot of it or spend years researching through air force and public records for a paper trail.

Has it been a while? It doesn't feel like that. I usually split my efforts between Emily/Reid and Reid/Hotch, but I've had less time overall for writing in the past year. Maybe that's the difference. Also, I tend to forget to cross-post to LJ, but everything's on Ao3.
