A Californian farmer's dog, who was tasked with protecting the farmer's goats from coyotes, refused to get into a car to escape the approaching wildfires. The farmer had to make a decision and opted to leave his dog and 8 goats because the fire was on top of them and there was no time to load the goats and also get he and his daughter to safety. Aw flip. What a dog!

I did see a lovely story about a guy who stopped his car on the edge of the fires to rescue a wild rabbit - someone filmed it and posted on Twitter. Which went a little way to restoring my faith in humanity.

Oh, I saw the rabbit video on the news. That guy was completely freaking out. I think the rabbit was calmer. But lovely to see nonetheless :)
