I remember the first photograph from a book I had, years ago, of Pulitzer prize-winning photographs. It's amazing, shocking and heartbreaking.

Photographs of people in free-fall have a horrible fascination. The modern equivalent is probably the "falling man" of 9/11. It's the terrible realization that, in that moment, they're alive and vital, but as soon as they hit the ground... :-(
