I got up early this morning because I'm on standby for a lot of work that requires crazy turnarounds. It's now almost noon here and I have yet to receive a single email. I am not even remotely impressed >:/

Yesterday, after tackling the follow-up to the questionable fic I started in November, I wrote the ending to the tentacle sequel that I also ( Read more... )

I hoarded the last two eps of Jessica Jones for weeks. Finally finished them up over the weekend. Very satisfying, I have to say, and they've clearly set up the storyline for season two.

Here's my question. Luke Cage is supposed to be getting his own show. And while he is a very pretty man, he didn't seem to have much of a personality. Not enough to carry his own show. Is that just me? Did I miss something with Luke?

I LOVE Jessica, though. And the show's treatment of, and commentary on, mind control. I can't wait to see what you think of the final ep.

I don't think Luke Cage is all that interesting either (looks only go so far) but there has been interest in a Luke Cage series since the 1980s, much like Wonder Woman. I'm not holding my breath, mostly because unless he becomes TONS more complicated there's not much there for me. Jessica however is my kind of woman (aside from the heinous rape back history). Weirdly enough, I fan this show but I'm not actively 'fanning' it - does that make sense?

Well, I'm glad it's not just me. I know that Luke Cage and Iron Fist are both supposed to be coming out from Netflix, and then some epic crossover with all three shows and Daredevil.

I'm not actively fanning the series either, but I love it to pieces. I love that Jessica doesn't budge on her position, and calls Kilgrave out for the disgusting rapist that he is. (Which is so hard for me, because David Tennant! My precious, precious Doctor!)

But David is doing a great service by playing Kilgrave the way that he is. I'm TERRIFIED of Kilgrave and his power to wiggle out of everything, and yet he's mesmerizing. I understand that there's a fanbase for Kilgrave (don't ask me to explain it - I won't even click on Kilgrave fic or Tumblrs or fan websites... nope) and I have to believe that it's all down to how well Tennant is playing him. My brother said he's 'like the Doctor if he were also the Master', but really it's far worse than that.
