F. is making one savory pie and one sweet pie, so you could make another sweet pie... I think that I'll make some salads (potato and greek maybe?) and leave off pie making for next weekend instead ;)
Finally 'coming out'... as a Sookie fangasolinequeenJune 11 2010, 20:32:32 UTC
In advance of the show, I'm daring to finally publicly 'come out' as a fan of the SStackhouse books (B, I finally found out that I borrowed *your* copies of the first three books! Sorry didn't know they were yours, will bring them). Took a little while for me to get into the first one but once I did I became thoroughly engrossed in the misadventures of Sookie and Bill and the rest of 'em. Highly enjoyable fluff that made me sigh more than once at the romance, dreaming idly of how nice it would be to be a pretty cysgendered chick constantly being wooed by handsome vampires and werewolves, maybe w/out the constantly getting beaten up part.
(M if you read this, I know I mocked your appreciation of the Winchester boys, you may now mock me for my gobbling up of silly vampire romance)
But I have not seen any of the show. Does it follow the books at all?
I'm guessing that's Eric above, he has yummy muscles... ;^)
Eric is looking at you, yes he is...blythechildJune 11 2010, 20:37:53 UTC
TB loosely follows the books, but with some large changes. Its very enjoyable (MB has never read the books and loves the series) and very fluffy. It's also pretty sexy.
Yes, Eric in the show is much more interesting than in the books (I didn't like him so much in the books). I have all of the books except the most recent so you can borrow the rest if you like ;)
Why can't we love the TB boys and the Winchester boys? Why must we CHOOSE?!?
Oh how happy I would be to be able keep a sexy vampire boyfriend of my own very very happy...gasolinequeenJune 11 2010, 21:06:18 UTC
Oh no need to choose between fluffy series... I just meant that M now has ample ammo to take me down a notch or two after my deprecating comments about Supernatural... ;^) (which really isn't that bad, heck they decapitated Paris Hilton and made fun of "House of Wax" which really was awful)
In my defence, I didn't know that M was a fan of Dean W at the time I was racking the show over the coals... anyway I publicly acknowledge M's need for a bit of sexy silly fluff, since I've discovered an apparent need for it myself that I wasn't aware of before, and since she'll probably roast me anyway, haha....
And yes please I would love to borrow the rest of them, that would be great fun. Yay! ^_^
I don't mind Eric in the books, he is sometimes very funny. Generally all of the characters are entertaining. The plots and tangents are slightly ludicrous, but the plot is really secondary to the silliness and [sigh] wooing and related [/sigh].
My therapist is apparently a big fan of the "Anita Blake" books which I hear are similar.

Listen, I converted blythechild to the Winchester boys. I think you should just give in and admit that awesomeness that is supernatural. You are allowed to also appreciate True Blood.

HBO is worth the extra moola. Both they and Showtime make some of the best stuff out there.
V&P is less a party and more of an opium den of like-minded addicts indulging in their favorite fix without judgment. And there's PIE! Cosmos and Hubby sounds just as good, quite frankly...

Looking forward to it!

Cosmos and Hubby on the couch. Your party sounds like a far better event, but we'll try and hold the fort down on the other side of the continent!
Signing up for HBO as I type. (We only get HBO for Trueblood) Is it one word? I don't have time to check...
