I appreciate the advice but I'M NOT BUYING ANOTHER PC EVER AGAIN. period. end of story. I've never had anything but trouble with all of 'em. Plus, I'm looking for ease of use for artistic applications, and let's face it, that's what MAC does.
A new laptop (MAC) is approx. $2K, which isn't in my purchase comfort zone. The used laptop comes with a 90 day warranty, which is a industry standard - it just doesn't cover the battery and I think they need to make that clearer. The same deal applies to used products from CPUsed. I can't find a MAC (used) that has what I want for cheaper - I've looked.
I followed the link. My Powerbook has the same processor and memory as the $1200.00 option, but the screen size is 2 inches smaller, it doesn't have an Airport card or bluetooth capabilities. With taxes, that NEW Mac comes to $1400.00+. Mine is $1100.00 all in.
The faster processor/more memory options are $1400.00 and $1600.00 (pre-tax) respectively and come with extras I don't have, but their screens are still 2 inches smaller. The one with the most memory is $1600.00+ and I can boost the memory of my Powerbook to match it for an extra $300, if I need to.

If you are willing to pay $1k you ought to be able to get a brand new laptop with a service warranty. I'd ask for my money back and buy a new one.
You probably don't want to hear this, but I don't know why anyone would pay more for a Mac with less computing power than a PC.
What sort of memory and processor are you getting for $1100 used?
