Being a belated Monday Update...

Saturday was spent in babysitting my niece and a significant chunk of that time was spent with her sleeping on my chest, while I watched The Goonies. Honestly, she's the most delightful time-suck in the world. Going to hang out with her is a joyful black hole of baby love. No regrets

Depending on whether it's more important to have someone else do it or save the time - I didn't want to leave my computer at the store (NEED IT NEED IT NEED IT AUGH) so I bought a hard drive that I needed for backup anyway, and did the data transfer myself. It's time-consuming, but it's not hard, just follow every single step. They can tell you how at the store, and it's also all over the internet. I did it while I had other things to do, so I started the process, cleaned some things while it did its thing, did the next step, etc. I think it took about 4-5 hours of data transfer and about 20 minutes of actual button-pressing on my part.

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing it myself, since I really should have a back up hard drive anyway. The only thing that worries me is that I'm transferring from PC to a Mac, so I'm not sure how challenging that is. I know some kinds of files don't make the transition easily, and that's where I'm considering having someone else do it.
