My Category Reading Challenge for 2012

For some reason, I didn't post about my category reading challenge for 2011, huh (well, here it is on Librarything). I'm not done with it yet, and it doesn't look like I will finish -- I'm currently at 90 books, with 9 more to be read. I'll post my reading stats at the end of the month once I have a full tally.

Those are such cool categories! I want to up my reading this year so I might have to take your list and play with it a bit. Very cool!

I have a lot of fun with it every year. People do all sorts of categories and you don't have to do twelve either. There's a group on library thing dedicated to the Category challenge (there's a group for every year actually), so you can go there to get some ideas of other categories that people are doing, if you want.

Other categories I've considered and/or done:
- Books about Books
- Fairy Tales/Folklore
- Specific Country (Japan, India, or Haiti)
- Magic/Witchcraft/Occult
- About Women/Feminism
- Film/Filmmaking
- Wild West History
- A specific scifi/fantasy genre (sword and sorcery, alternate history, space operas, or the like)
- Alchemy (in fiction and in history)
- Pop Culture
- Arthurian
- Travel
- Mystery
- Historical

So yeah, lots to play with.

Ha ha! I went to sign up for Library Thing and became INCENSED that someone had taken "larinzia" already... until I realized that I had signed up on the site FOREVER AGO and that larinzia was ME! *grins* I'm going to have to get back into the swing of that place!
