Last night, I stared with confusion at my computer, wondering why the photos from my camera were not showing up on my screen. So I looked through my camera and found that all of my pictures and videos that I had taken in Vegas had mysteriously vanished. I don't know how it happened. Though I know I didn't delete them. Are you sure you didn't put another blank card in the camera, thinking you were putting the old one back in? I use a card reader so I have to take the card out of the camera. Sometimes the spare gets put in.
Oh, also it might be possible that they're still on the disk but in a different folder. Hook the camera to the computer and click on the card icon and check out all the folders.

I didn't have a blank card to switch out, so I know it was the same card. I have to use the cord to connect the camera to the computer anyway, because my computer doesn't have the card slots.

I did check through what folders were there. I checked through everything several different ways. I just don't know what could have happened.

That is really bizarre. I wonder if it came in contact with a strong magnet somewhere and everything got erased?

That could be the case, and really its the only thing I can think of. I did have another card in the case, but it had photos from Hawaii on it and they all survived. I walked around a lot with the camera out of its case, so it must have happened at that point.

Very weird. Very disappointing. But ah, well. There's nothing I can do, so there's no use moping about it.
