Like I said last night, I know there are people(lots of people) who will disagree with me on this. And that's fine. I totally respect your opinions, especially as I felt like the majority of you until recently. I would love to discuss my feelings on this situation with people with differing opinions as well as similar ones, but I will not tolerate ( Read more... )

I totally, whole heartedly, 100% agree with everything you just wrote. My immediate feeling about the entire thing was that Rob Thomas did it on purpose. If the aim was to get Keith back as Sheriff (which, how in God's name did he become Sheriff so quickly-this isn't Miss America), it could have been handled differently. Should have, too. RT has wandered out of the realm of noir and into the realm of BORING. Shame on him.

I too wondered how Keith would react to Veronica's illegal activity. For all intents and purposes, she should be in jail by now for some of the stuff she's pulled.

It's just so disappointing that a show as good as VM used to be has gotten so turned around. It makes me sad. :(

I suppose when one's ego begins to take over the only place to go is down. Pity too. These were characters I loved, and they no longer feel original. They've become...gasp...cliche.

A few days ago I read a comment by someone who said something along the lines of "RT used to write the characters as if they were real. Now, he's writing them as his play things." And that pretty much sums it up.

I agree with certain points you made...

Lamb's death was pointless, and the prospect of keith as sheriff again makes me think ALOT will change between the keith veronica interaction..::sigh::

I beleive this show hasnt been noir since season one...while season two was great too though, but season 3 so far has been the most cliche, un inspiring set for VM. The show is getting bland (even so it's one of the best things on tv, even at it's worst).

I personally dont like LoVe , so i hate that he gave into the "fans" and gave them "what they want". But i truthfully hope Veronica and Logan are done for good. but thats a whole other discussion.

Great Post!

See, that is the whole problem to begin with. Honestly? He SHOULDN'T CARE what the shippers(or any other fans for that matter) want. It shouldn't factor into the storytelling of the show. Period. That's where he fucked up. He let his ego get away from him, and now takes all the things that fans don't like/want changed as personal attacks against him. And that is ridiculous. And also just my opinion, of course. ;)

yes i totally agree. I read this interview with chris lowell and he mentioned how on the first things he told him was "they are gonna hate you and be prepared for the worst, blah blah..."

I dont like that attitude.

It totally SUCKS that Lamb is dead. I mean, it is the suck hardcore. I love Michael as an actor, and Lamb was such a great character, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's RT's show and RT will do what he wants. I can't complain, because it is out of my hands. I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't be upset or pissed or whatever, but I've learned that life is much easier to deal with if you don't get pissed off at TV shows. TRUST ME, I feel your pain. It's just hard to be this invested in something because ultimately, even the most worshiped tv show creators do something that makes me want to gouge their eyes out with a spork, but it is much easier for me to just say, "Ok, where is he going with this ( ... )

I've been trying to distance myself from this show. I know that I get overly involved, it's just at this point, I can't help it. Rob Thomas created characters that I LOVE and care about very much. I really wish I could take a step back and look at this as a TV show, but I'm not a normal person. Hee. I'm overly fangirly and obsessive and I'm just heartbroken.

I've learned my lesson though. ;D

And BLAKE IS MADE OF AWESOME, OMG. I can't even. He's just...so awesomely awesome. Heh.

Yeah, I totally see where you are coming from. RT has made some pretty kickass characters.
