I can certainly see how your experience with The Battle of the Labyrinth helped push it out of favor! With me, it's kinda the opposite - I read this really horrible book at a thrift store once and now I never want to go into that building! : P
I'm hoping I can do a drawing for every day of the meme... but at this rate, I just might succeed because this gives me a huge opportunity to draw and draw and draw -- something I hardly know how to fit in!

Yeaaaaah. In this one, Annabeth got all guarded and jealous and defensive (FOR GOOD REASON, I mean, I'm not hating her for that, but still), and it was so not fun.
And expanding on the seasons of life thing from my comment on #1,
When I read BOTL I was deeply entrenched in the worst sports season of my life, the ~dreaded~ track and field. And oh, I hate running. Running, for me, is like...the worst thing ever. And doing it every day in front of a bunch of people - forced into it by my mother - was so depressing. And it really affected my mood elsewhere too, and that's also part of why BOTL was so :P for me.
I know. Do not like jealous and defensive Annabeth, no way. if I didn't like her so much, I would've disliked her than and there.

Ah, I agree! Normally people read books for solace, but what with so much drama in the book and in real life, one never really feels that they're getting away, so to speak...
