I love playing with words, and I love using words in an unusual and interesting way. But I also want to be understood. I have to wear two wordy hats - the one I use when I’m writing for myself, trying to be creative and having fun, and then there’s the one I have to wear at work where it has to be all straightforward, open and easy to follow. I think the tech peoples' version is ... interesting.
But I'm sure most people only read the first few words and then were like ... "Wot???"

I remember when I received it, and I lost the will to live after the first couple of lines. I just can't help thinking that, if you want someone to understand your message, say it in a way they will understand! :)

I agree with you - the only thing is, I would say that the most professional approach would be to give a message that people will understand. :)

Hmh... if it had rhymed it could have been put down as poetry. sort of.

no really, I like your version of the phrase better.
alternatively you could also write:
the problem is -70x, due to 5+ee. we will let you know when it's up and running again.
that's what I currently get with OUR system that's been down for 1.5 hours with NO email news about it. :) but alas the system lets me know what its problem is. not that it helps, really. :)

I feel your pain!

I'm sure techy people hide behind the words they use, especially when they don't understand the problem any more than the rest of us - and that seems to be most of the time! :)
