All's well that ends well

Yesterday evening I phoned Rebekka, now safely back in Switzerland. She and Philippe flew back on Friday afternoon. I told her that I thought I would give them a couple of days to come to terms with the fact that a t-shirt can actually be an article of clothing in its own right, rather than just another layer out of many.

Yay, I'd love to see some of her pics too. You make the best out of what you get.

If anyone is capable of making the best out of very little, it's Rebekka. She's one of the most resourceful people I've ever met. So, I should have realised and not feared the worst. :))

any chance we might get to see some of her pictures?
sometimes i like to see a place when the weather isn't all that great.... most 'tourist' berochures seem to only show the sunny days, and atmosphere is quite often enhanced by big clouds etc.

[how did the kilt-wearing go?]

I don't know whether she'll allow me to show some of her pictures or not, but I will ask.

It's funny, the more I look back on my time in Scotland, the more I feel that I was lucky to get the rain. As you say, what I saw doesn't feature in the brochures and videos; it's like I saw it in its natural state rather than tarted up for the tourists!

The 'kilt-wearing' went well. Reactions ranged from genuine 'Wow' to total indifference. It was quite 'liberating' driving in the thing, it has to be said, and much cooler on a sultry afternoon. Rebekka has demanded a picture next time I wear it, all I have to do is find someone brave enough to take it! :))

That wasn't me, that was Philippe - Rebekka's partner. I hadn't got mine at the time. There may be photos of me in the weeks to come, if I can find someone who doesn't mind risking their camera to take them.
