i know exactly what you mean. its constantly going thru my mind. i just dunno what id do without them. i cant even bear to think about the day i lose one of them. life's tough. thankfully we have friends :)
I understand how you feel. My parents are already over 50. I've been trying to put myself in "that" position, to see how it would affect me. Although I don't feel very close to my parents, I guess it would have some impact.
It worries that they're not taking care of themselves. My mother is obese, and she got a scare recently. The doctor told her that she has to "lose weight or ...".
My mother doesn't know how to cook healthy (one reason I rarely eat my mother's food except weekends), and they like their fatty dessert. And we have fights coz she thinks I don't eat enough! She finally got her answer when the doctor told her the above.
Im fact i am cookin next Sunday - even just so my parents can have a lie-in. I should be old enough to do this now.. + i am trying to get them to go for walks together - even taking the dog - thatdog needs osme exercise"
I do sometimes have the same thoughts. Both my parents are well over 50. Who worries me more is my mum cause she is obese with high blood pressure..which is not a good thing. At least at home we cook healthy (too healthy...in the last 3 years no red meat entered our house, or any form of frying), but my mum needs some exercise. Healthy food alone is not enough.
Sometimes getting a scare is what makes them realise the thing. My dad some years ago was in hospital and then he got to know he had high cholestor....and it was from that day that we starting eating so healthy.
Mum and I were thinking of playing tennis sometime soon. That's good about the red mear. i don't take red meat either - just chicken or fish but it's bcoz i really don't like it and also because i know it's unhealthy. Mum eats lots of bread and cheese... and dad, well, for starters he doesn't drink water :/ but he's not a healthy connoisseur either
