Terminus Envy is here

Aug 01, 2008 21:38

Briefly, because I am exhausted and hot and sticky, and I have a filthy headache as well.

We've started the Terminus Envy activities off over at the portus_envy community (don't mind the name--it made no sense to move a community with 140+ watchers), and already people are responding with interesting offers and prompts! ~is impressed ( Read more... )

Um...I'm going to Terminus. But...

I also started an ongoing saga during portus envy, and although I've been posting further installments here...do you want me to wait until after Terminus for the chappie that's close to posting? I don't want to inadvertently steal anyone's thunder or anything (since it's sizable).

:)

You don't have to wait, if your chapter is ready now! We're happy to have Terminus attendees participate as well; although some people might set limits on their individual offers or challenges, we want to include as many people as possible. Besides, the story was a direct result of the original Portus Envy, so I'd love to see you continue to post it there. :-)

Also, I just want to see where you're going with it!

Terminus envy? I was really hoping some of my midwestern livejournal friends would be able to make it to Terminus to hear my reading, and maybe even attend the Snape panel I'm going to be on. :(

Yes, Terminus Envy. I'd love nothing better than to be able to go and hear your reading (not to mention your your no doubt eloquent and impassioned contribution to the Snape panel!), but it just wasn't to be this year. Between my health, my RL demands and my finances, I had to give up on the idea. I'm having to concentrate my attention and resources towards going to Azkatraz next year, which is much further from home for me, but gives me a year to prepare.

I wish you a great time at Terminus, though! I'm sure you're going to be a huge hit. :-)

That's way too hot to be able to be productive IMHO.

~nods~ It really is too hot to do much of anything, much less think. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the heat wave will break until sometime next week, but at least I don't have to go out in the heat today.

And how are you feeling? I'm still so excited for you and your family. :-)

I've just awakened from a long and deep afternoon nap. I guess that dusting my flat and doing some other chores wore me out after 4 months of doing nothing. Otherwise, I feel great and excited. I love the end of my pregnancy.

Oh, thank you Scoffy! ~hugs back~ You're so welcome. If you're enjoying the comm, then it's absolutely worth it. :-)

My head is much, much better this morning, thank you. I think the rain washed away some of the allergens that were making me so sick. It didn't wash away the heat, but I can't expect miracles.

Sinus swelling surely sucketh mightily! Thankfully, not so much today. ;-)

*smiles* I just wanted to post an official "thank you" for this great community. I IM with machshefa all the time, but you too deserve all manner of praise!

You're very welcome, and thank you for your participation! It's the contributions of the community members that really make the community itself a success.

That said, I'm sure I never could have gotten the concept off the ground without machshefa. I've been honored to co-mod with her, and one of the many delights of the whole experience has been getting to know her much better.

Go ahead and use that icon all you want! Martinis are always appropriate. They're the little black dress of the cocktail world.
