I got my Portus postcard in the mail today! To my absolute delight, it's been signed by many of my friends, favorite authors and all-around awesome lj people! What a fabulous treat! ~shares squee~ They're amazing! It was a wonderful idea, and I can't thank mollyssister enough for orchestrating it. It made me feel warm and fuzzy and wibbly.

Thank you! Time really does fly. It seems like just yesterday that I was screwing up the courage to start an LJ, but a lot has happened since then.

Aw, that's the nicest thing to say! My LJ definitely wouldn't be the same without you, either. :-)

It's been nearly a year, but I have to admit that it does feel like longer. I didn't start writing until last August or Sept., though--need to go back and check that.

Have you really own been in fandom for a year? It feels like a lot longer, in the best of ways of course :D

I very much enjoyed jumping into conversational groups armed only with my clipboard and a pen "Excuse me Snermione shippers..." It made me be brave where I could have easily wimped out. A con is a very overwhelming experience. There were many people I just wanted to jump on and have a long chat and really get to know them. But a con is not condusive to that sort of thing. Its a Squeeeeeeeee a quick hug and you are off to the next fan girl.

Yes, only a year! It feels like longer to me, too. A year ago, I never dreamed I'd be doing half the things I am now.

I can see that the postcards must have been a good icebreaker! There must have been tons of people to meet; I can understand why it would be hard to have in-depth chats with anybody. Still, I'd like to have the chance to squee in person! Thanks again for the postcard; it really made my day.

Orlando sounds like fun, especially since it's two years away--plenty of time for planning! I've already heard several people mention that one. Car pooling... it would be an SS/HG road trip! ;-)
