Wheee!

My gift for the Trading Places challenge at lupin_snape has been posted, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It's a gorgeous illustration of my drabble Snow Day, by none other than karasu_hime: Cocoa Goodness. It perfectly captures the mood I had in mind, all warm and sweet and contented. It also features an adorable Teddy and a funky-sock-wearing Severus, both of which ( Read more... )

And I'm so glad you're feeling better.

:D I hope you like the finished product that much!

I'm feeling much better indeed, and it only took a minor Ice Age to achieve it.

Oh, that's just lovely! I just love the sandwichyness of the layering of Severus' and Remus' arms over Teddy. There's just something so cozy and domestic about the whole feel of it.

I look forward to seeing what you do with "Bribing the Ferryman." I hadn't realized you were the first claimant on it. (All I noticed was "damn, someone already claimed it!" followed quickly by "yay, they're allowing second claims!") I agree that it calls for something a bit longish to really explore it, and it'll be very interesting to see what different angles we each come up with.

I never get ideas one at a time. They have to come in a stampede.

I hear that!

Yes, exactly! That's just what I pictured, and Karasu did such a wonderful job of illustrating it. I still keep looking at it and grinning.

I'm looking forward to seeing your take on "Bribing the Ferryman" as well! I'm glad they've allowed second claims, because there's more than one way to interpret a picture. I've sketched out the basic outline and come up with a solid opening, but there's still a lot to explore. I knew I wanted that illustration for a long time, though--I actually toyed with writing something for it back when Skitty posted it for the Resurrection Fest, but I was so swamped then that I just didn't think I could do it justice. It's something about how vulnerable Severus looks in Remus' arms that gets me, I think. That, and the idea of Remus storming the gates of Hell to rescue Severus. Alpha!Remus is going to show up in this one, I think.

*nods* He almost has to.

Definitely. Seeing those different interpretations is going to be one of the best parts of this fest, I think. That and just, well, more Snupin. :-)

It's a very cute picture! And I don't even care for slash.

Gald you enjoyed the picture, even if it's not your usual cup of tea! The drabble was very G-rated as well; it's more about cozy domesticity and playing in the snow than it is about slash. I write a bit of everything, just as long as it involves Snape. ;-)

It's great that you are feeling better! But your drabble made me blush :) - naughty girl!
Looking forward to the Snuna....

Hee! You read the drabble about the snowmen, didn't you? Yes, I was being naughty with that one. That one's been illustrated as well; look here.

I do feel much better, thank you! I hope you'll like the Snuna. I can tell you this much: it involves Snape and Luna and cake. Lots of cake. :-)

Oh! That's embarrassing. I was so distracted by your drabble that I was not even aware that the hot-cocoa-painting doesn't fit the snowman-drabble at all ;)... Both of them great by the way...

:D That's okay! They were posted together, so it's easy to miss the first one. I'm glad you enjoyed them both, naughty and nice.

(And I love that icon. I adore A Bug's Life!)

Ooh, I'm excited that you're excited! I hope you like the finished story. I really want to do the art justice; it just feels like it has a deep story attached to it, you know?
