Nicked from gina_r_snape, just in case you've ever wondered what my voice sounds like. (Quite unlikely, but hey.) Also, prepare to laugh at my idiocy at the end of the recording, because I couldn't figure out how to save and post. Um. Well, I never claimed to be tech-savvy, did I? *g ( Read more... )

Aw, thanks! I'm glad you got a laugh out of it. I'm incapable of giving a straight answer, apparently. *g*

I know, right? I don't even want to think about what's going to happen with that blue cheese. ;-)

I'm concerned for the peas.

And you reminded me to badger hubby into a voice post.

He does an awesome Voldemort parody.

And rightly so. Although it's been pointed out to me that it also sounds a bit Booshy, like the kind of cryptic instructions Naboo might give.

Ooooh, that sounds amazing! I want to hear that. :D

I am always fascinated by subtle regional differences. The most obvious one was "sure"--you say "sherr," while it comes out my mouth more as "shewer" (almost "shore," but not quite).

"What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?"---"Vandalism?"

"What do you say to address a group of people?"---"'Hi, people?'" (Not shewer what answer they're going for here.)

Fun!

(And I'm not even technically proficient enough to know how to record anything, so you've got me beat. Nice to hear your voice!)

I'm fascinated by the subtle regional variations, too, even within a small geographical area.

I know what you mean about "sure" and the two pronunciations! To be honest, I'm probably guilty of being inconsistent in my usage there, because I'm sure (ha) that I've used the one that you're describing, too. ;-) It probably depends on the occasion and how formally I'm speaking.

Vandalism, yes! And I have NO idea what they're going for with the one about the crowd. Struck me as odd, too.

Aww, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Though I can't claim any technical genius, since I just consulted the FAQs and recorded it over my phone. *g*
