Had dinner with Mom and Dad and Younger Brother this evening (yum!), and Younger Brother was very eager to show off what he's learned so far in the first weeks of music school

That does sound like a wonderful evening! When I was very young, I loved the TV series, The Onedin Line, and I figured out how to play the theme of it. My mother wasn't impressed (and ignorant of all but the greatest composers), but my piano teacher was absolutely tickled, and for me, a love for Khachaturian was born. :)

Yes! It grows and grows, that's exactly it! And it's exciting because music is what brings us closer to understanding the universe. Fascinating stuff!
So glad you're feeling better! I, too, am a believer in Vit C as an immune system booster. Word has it that the sun isn't providing as much Vit D3 as he used to, and supplementing with that is said to have very beneficial effects, too. Just sayin'. :)

Yes, yes and yes! I was just having this discussion with my brother the other day, actually, as one of his courses this semester is a seminar on musical pedagogy--how to teach music, what informs the way we teach, etc. And I was making the same point about the way in which music facilitates further understanding and insight in so many other areas, even the ones that seem unrelated at first glance. It's a beautiful web of unexpected connections!
Ah, and D3 is an excellent idea! ~makes note~ I am a firm believer in the power of C, and with my immune system, I take all the help I can get.
He can, at times, surprise me with the depth of his awesomeness. *g*
I think the sleep, C and everybody's good vibes helped, because I am feeling much better today. That means it's just some wicked allergies, which is not so surprising, since this insists on being a warm winter. Which some people might like, but sucks for those of us allergic to mold.

I love that story. Love it! Isn't it wonderful, the connections we make with music wherever we find it? And then it grows and grows...

I am so sorry for all the ick. ~hugs and sends warm blankets~ Are the kittehs applying therapeutic cuddles, I hope?
As for me, I think I've been lucky enough to avoid it this time. I'm much better today. It's just these allergies that will kill me...

And ~hugs~ to you, poor Tonksie. ~sends soup and blankets and hugs~ A cold is bad enough, but jet lag and a cold is just plain cruel!

Less awesome about feeling like crap. I hope either the sleep or the C help.
