Snape would be my favorite. Otoh, I think Dumbledore and Bellatrix are both *scarier*

Snape is walking away with the competition, most definitely, so I think he's in. I have a good idea for Fawkes, and he's also popular, but I do have to agree that Dumbledore and Bellatrix are the creepiest options. The second pumpkin may come down to the shape of pumpkin I find; different pumpkins suit different designs.

You know if the stem of the pumpkin is shaped right, you can turn the pumpkin sideways and voila, perfect Snape's nose!

Hah! This is true. It's a pity the stems are so often broken by the time they get to market, because that would make a good nose.

I don't see why it has to be an either-or option -- why not a Harry-Potterverse-meets-Alice-In-Wonderland, or The-Corpse-Bride-meets-Sweeney-Todd?

Seriously, I'm planning to go for one single theme just because it makes it easier for people to "place" the designs and figure out who they are. If you see two HP characters or PotC characters together, you're more likely to connect the dots.
