HTML is fixed now! I forgot to copy/paste from the original post, rather than the e-mail. E-mail does funky things to code.
It makes me sad when I see people calling this fandom "dead," when the reality is just that it's changing. New people are coming into it all the time, new stories are being written, new variations created. If we don't like what we see, then it's up to us to make changes, isn't it?
Anyway, we're all having a blast at OWL, and it has stimulated a lot of new stories and new friendships. I think it's great!

Exactly.
I see it that way, and I only got involved in it late '07, early '08, way AFTER what most would see as "the heyday", I guess.

Hear! Hear!
You get out whatever you put in; hey, I would like to have thousands or even hundreds of people reading my fanfiction, but if in reality it's only a handful of people that's okay too -- as long as they still enjoy reading what I write, I'll enjoy writing it.
Actually I'd continue writing even if I had NO readers, because I've gotten to the point where I really, REALLY like the characters I've developed and just feel the need to develop them to the end. Plus I'm having a ball writing about 9 year old Severus, playing around with speculation about his personality at that age, and how he could grow up to be basically the troubled man we see in canon, even if he has a totally different AU life...Hey, if a

I confesss, I am not a good reviewer on OWL because I hate the damn rating requirement. I prefer to just say what I have to say without having to give it a number.
But the House stuff does sound like fun. I may have to rethink my stance on that, and browse around a bit more. Or is the House stuff for authors only?
But the Ravenclaws don't need anybody! Remember what Harry said: you can choose where to go, no matter what the hat says. ;-) If you don't feel comfortable in Slytherin, I strongly encourage you to join the Hufflepuffs, because they're a great bunch and could use the help

I was pretty sure the test was going to come out in favor of Ravenclaw, cuz I tend to be more intellectual and artzy-fartzy than power-driven. But I think Slytherin would be more fun!
Now I feel bad! Can I go back and tell OWL that I want to change my house?
The issue with the patches before was that I was editing it and fixing the HTML. It was screwed up because I copy/pasted from the e-mail, instead of directly from the source, and that messes with the code. It should show two patches, in addition to the Slytherin crest. It does now. It didn't then

Ok, I just scrolled down and saw your icon (I'd seen it before, but never commented), and it is just me, or does look vaguely.. well... uhm.. suggestive? Or is it like a Rorschach test, and I only see that because that's where my mind is??
