About Azkatraz and Reading: a poll

Jun 24, 2009 12:04

Before everybody yells at me for not resting my wrist enough, just let me say that 1) the resting I did yesterday helped a lot, and the right paw is less achy today and 2) I promise to go back to icing and resting in just a bit. Really. I don't want to screw this up just as it's feeling better ( Read more... )

So I voted for three, including the ticky box. Can't you read the whole thing?

I know, I know, but I absolutely love this story of yours, and even if I can't get there (it's still up in the air as I'm not driving yet, and I can't manage luggage) I'll be thinking of you, and now I know I'll be re-reading this favorite story again.

You realize that you'd have plenty of help with the luggage, right? :) And perhaps a carpool from LA? *iz hopeful...

*hugs

You're a very dear woman. At this point it depends on several things, one of them is my arm and my doctor's appointments, and when I get the cast off. I go back for another set of x-rays in another 10 days to check the progress, and I'll know for certain then.

There are so many wonderful people I want to see at Az ... I'm practically biting my nails (on one hand only) about it.

::hugs you too::

I just posted a poll, because the world needs more ticky boxes. :D

I voted TickyTicky, of course. But had a few other choice selections. Let's chat about this... I'm still wibbling about whether to go the official route and possibly read the Snuna, or even something else. I dunno. Perhaps I shall do a poll!

If loving Ticky is wrong, then I don't want to be right. *g*

I answered your poll, because of course I can't resist ticky boxes, but yes, let's talk. Originally, I was thinking of the formal reading and an informal SS/HG gathering, but now that we find out that so many slots are available, and it seems to be so tricky to find a place to house the informal reading, I'm leaning towards the idea about combining them.

I voted for everything except "something else." :D

If your voice gives out, I don't think you'll be hard up for help.

You are a dear! :D What a wonderful thought. I'll read without fear of going hoarse!

I'm going to do a trial run of the story, to figure out how long it takes to read, realistically. I'd love to read the whole thing, but I don't want to overflow my time slot and infringe on somebody else's time. If we end up reserving a whole block of SS/HG time... well, we'll see.

I'm with Bambu in wanting to hear all of it :D The two I chose (apart from the ticky box) were the beginning, which I think sets the story perfectly, and the big dinner, which reduced me to a twitching puddle of food lust (can a puddle twitch?).

Why shouldn't puddles be able to twitch? They can twitch if they want to. (They can leave their friends behind...)

Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to do a test read, so that I'll have a reasonable estimate of how much story can be read in 30 minutes. Ideally, I'd love to do the whole story, but I don't want to overflow my time slot like a twenty-pound cat trying to sit inside a shoe box, because that wouldn't be fair to the person scheduled after me. (If there is somebody scheduled then, which I think is still up in the air.) But if I have to make cuts, it's good to know which sections people most want to hear, and there have been a few surprises. For instance, I had no idea the beginning would be one of the more popular requests!

If I'd get to go, I'd want to hear the scene at the Musee Rodin most - because of that kiss at the end!! :-)

Oh, thank you! I could hug you for saying that. :D I don't revisit my stories often, but I usually sort of have an image in my head for each one, and when I think of French Connection, I most definitely think of that kiss, so I'm really happy that you like it, too. If I ever had an illustration to the story, I think that would be my number one request.

I *love* that scene!! (I love the whole story though. Completely and utterly!)
