Seriously, 1/2 an avocado sliced up and spinkled with sea salt and lemon makes an amazingly fine topping for a bagel. Kroger had Hass avocados on sale for $1 and I picked one up a couple of days ago, allowing it to ripen perfectly. Cream cheese just doesn't have anything on a perfect Hass avocado. Sadly, I'm a little bit disapointed by the whole ( Read more... )

Smoking should drop pretty much out of my habits as soon as I'm out of the Fasthouse...Alison and Dylan are a smokey duo to live with, but my new roommate is a non-smoker.

I'm a little spoiled in that I've never had to make a dietary decision like this before. Right now I'm leaning towards trying to lower the caffeine/alcohol intake and up my water even more. Especially in Denton, my social life revolves around diarhetics.

I just copied this off some health site...don't know if you've considered it..

It was thought for many years that if you had arthritis you should not exercise because it would damage your joints. Now, however, research has shown that exercise is an essential tool in managing your arthritis.

Regular, moderate exercise offers a whole host of benefits to people with arthritis. Mainly, exercise reduces joint pain and stiffness, builds strong muscle around the joints, and increases flexibility and endurance.

I'm sure there are lots of hand exercises that you can do to help with the pain. : )

I will definitely look into that. I keep meaning to ask about hand exercises next time I see a doctor, but I've not done that in a while.

Hey u! Sorry to hear about the possible impending Arthritis, however.. my father suffered for about 2.5 years and then cut out ALL DAIRY products from his diet (having Soya milk and stuff instead) and it all but disappeared..

Might be worth a shot ;)

Interesting...

About all the dairy I eat currently is cheese...cream and milk upset my stomach, but I'll see if I can get the cheese intake down as well. I'm pretty much doomed on the arthritus front...just about everyone in my family has it.

This week has been a lot better, at least, because we're into nice hot Texas spring weather.
