Really? REALLY?!!?

I was looking around on the interwebz for legitimate work-at-home jobs. Yes, I know, I know, but I figure there have to be SOME out there, right? So I found a site that looked reasonably not shady and checked it out. There was some good information, along with the usual links and helpful hints ( Read more... )

"Spellings" and "suppose to"! That's fantastic... if it is a test, I think the writer = fail!

I think my favorite is the fact that they don't even capitalize English.

www.odesk.com is legit WAH jobs. The fiancee of my old boss works for them. I keep meaning to do some jobs for them, but I can't get anything done during the day with Sam and evenings are a hurried rush to get housework caught up. I have one resume to work on right now for a family member and I started it LAST WEEK, only 1/2 done.... ugh.

Thank you! I will look into them when I get settled and can devote some time to it. Again, not looking for anything to get rich on, but a little extra would come in nice.

I think you'd like Odesk. The jobs tend to be short term, contract, stuff so you're not making huge months on end commitments. I liked the looks of some of the secretary type stuff on there, but haven't gotten to pursue it due to the kidlet.

I just typed up a whoooole big "about me" entry, that will answer everything you could possibly ever want to know. :-)

And I know about the pitfalls of WAH. I've been researching it for a while, and it's really sad how many "companies" are out there waiting to take advantage of unsuspecting people. Fortunately the job I'm hoping to transition to soon will involve some at-home time, so I'm just essentially trying to double up. But I am realistic, and I know that it's difficult and takes time and patience.

I was wondering if this craziness was some sort of test, because the descriptions of all the other jobs are perfectly reasonable (and correct.) How weird that the one for the proofreading job is the one riddled with typos?

Excellent -- I'll go read that ASAP.

Good deal. I think that right now people are getting taken advantage of more and more because they're desperate for any kind of job, given the economy. Working at home is great in so many ways -- I used to work at home sometimes when I had a full-time editing job and I got more done without people interrupting me. However, it's tempting to do things around the house too!

Hmmm. Maybe it IS a test. If so, very sneaky of them!

I'm on Freelancer.com if you'd like a referral. The site is legit and there are tons of projects available. However, because you're competing against people from all over the world, including countries where the cost of living is much lower, the pay is often kind of poor. It's all right as a way of making a little bit extra in your spare time, though. I'll send you an invitation if you're interested.

You are definitely good in spellings, like you are suppose to!

Sure! Hook me up. A little extra in my spare time is really what I'm needing. I have no such notions of making a killing sitting in my living room. :-)

You're pretty good at spellings, yourself!
