I was going to buy one of these controllers for my mom once, but she's pretty much given up on Dragon Quest 8. She was nearly at the end, too. But I'm not surprised, she pulled the same stint with Dragon Warrior 7. She's played to the ends of, geez, nearly twenty 32-bit-and-up games, but only completed a handful of them. She's very bad about quitting on the final boss, I think she just doesn't want the games to end.

I've never had Pocky, and I doubt I will anytime soon. Here in Missouri we're a smidgen slow when it comes to getting our hands on that sort of thing.

Then again, the local Hastings bookstore has a variety of weird imports, including some sort of food that I've not dared to try.

Yups. Also a proud provider of movies, music, and games!

It is kinda funny how the exact reverse of your thoughts crossed my mind once: "There's a place in the UK called 'Hastings'?"

I was aware it's considered offensive in Britain, but I guess it's not so much so that Homer can say it on TV? I did notice that Venny wrote it as "W*nk" or some such in a comment once (on the Citadel Forums, I believe).

Oh, and apparently, "Wank" is also the name of a mountain in Germany o_O;

The "soul bonding" wanks are always some of the funniest (we had one recently where someone calling herself "Scottswife" claimed that not only was she soul-bonded to Cyclops from X-Men, but that he was also her religion).
