Just finished Portal. Gameplay was very good; there were several parts (especially as you get further along) that really force you to think about how to proceed. I did have to get a couple of hints from Jeff (who's beaten it twice), but otherwise I was able to figure out everything on my own, which was really satisfying at times. Well, the fact that the Weighted Companion Cube is overrated is the joke, at least to my understanding. But yeah, glad you finally played it! It's definitely one of my favorite games of this year.

And something of a random question, but if you had to recommend me one game to play through before the close of this year, what would it be? From what I've seen it looks like most every game you've beaten this year is one I own yet haven't put alot of time into yet. I know I talked you into Persona 3, so let's consider it a trade of sorts. I'm gonna guess you'll tell me to play through either Front Mission 4 or Phoenix Wright, so I'll just ask that....should I play through Front Mission 4 or Phoenix Wright?

You haven't played Phoenix Wright yet?! Play that, definitely! Front Mission 4 is great, and you should play it sometime, but I'd have to go with Phoenix Wright in this case ^_^

I will admit, I did pause for a moment when I found out about the incinerator. I imagine anyone who really loved their cubes cackled with sweet revenge while incinerating GLaDOS' eyeballs in the final battle ;)

Upon reflection, the cube and the incinerator at the end were just two more devices designed to drive the test subjects nuts. Of course GLaDOS wanted her guinea pigs to become attached to the things; all the better for her!
