Goldikova officially upstaged Zenyatta.

I just knew something was wrong when she was so far back, but holy shit did she nearly do it. I'm so proud of her, and yet so crushed right now.

I wish they'd leave Mike Smith alone! Poor guy!

Amen to everything you said. I was so bummed that Goldi wasn't getting nearly the attention that Zen was (though I love both dearly), and while I'm bummed about Zen's loss I am still stupidly happy for Goldi. ♥

And really, to come from that far back to get beat by a nose =/= losing. She showed some real grit and heart, which is what racing is all about. She's still a champion.

Ugh. People need to STFU about Mike! He was letting Zen do her thing by drifting to the back, and tried to get her to pick it up when he realized how far back she was. He's not to blame (heh) for anything.
