It was a strange day, full of strange things, that was for certain. He could clearly remember curling up next to Squalo the night before, whining about how uncomfortable his bed was, that it definitely wasn't fit for a prince, and had even attempted to demand a story out of the teen- it definitely didn't work, though
( ... )
Strange doesn't even begin to describe the day, especially as Mammon looks down to see what's holding him back. He knew even before he sees him, that tiny voice being one he couldn't ever have forgotten. But that doesn't stop the mild surprise from being there. He was expecting an older Bel, not this littler one.
Nonetheless, he doesn't question it too much. Stranger things have happened after all. Instead he simply kneels to the ground, having the child at eye level even though both of their eyes are covered.
When the other knelt down to his level, he gave a curious tilt of his head- this face, he knew it from somewhere, but he couldn't quite place it. It was different than the Mammon he knew, but similar nonetheless-- still, just not enough for him to quite place the resemblance.
"Where's Squ, boss, and that little baby? The rest of them the prince doesn't need."
Still, his hand kept a firm grip on the cloak; if he decided to try and walk away, Belphegor wouldn't hesitate to shove a knife into him; he didn't like being left alone, especially not in a place that seemed quite strange to him.
It's adorable in a way, the obvious need coming from the child. Bel had always been clingy, and he knew the boy didn't like being left all by himself, but this only proved the point even further.
One hand reaches out to rest on the boy's head, careful not to knock aside that crown, and the other into the pocket of one of his robes. Phantasma, previously taking a nap in one of the pockets, blinks up at the child with it's red eyes.

"You recognize him, you should recognize me."
