Kakashi is taking center stage in the most recent chapters, and Sasuke has entered the background somewhere... so now all we need is for Sakura to jump into the battle, too. Team Seven reunite!!

Intimate. You picked a perfect word to describe what happened between Kakashi and Sakura in that scene. It's almost as if that was the first time he really saw her as a capable kunoichi, and I can see how it would be a first of many things between them.
Since Kakashi is so serious about learning and mastering techniques, I think Sakura's brainy love for learning things is something they can bond over. It's their first point in common, and first step towards intimacy. But the way they differ, and what would keep it interesting, is how Sakura can focus and freely blast her chakra, whereas Kakashi must watch and portion his reserves so carefully. There's a lot they can admire in each other.
