What a fun way to visualize music! The music notes were matched up to their corresponding colors on the color wheel. Then the lines and circle sizes represents the music's changing tempo and sound. More videos like this can be found on Smalin's Youtube Channel. Some of them are very pretty to look at. Such as this one which is very beautiful.

Really pretty! I love Debussy anyway. Such a beautiful way to imagine music, it's so colorful anyway.

Hey, hey! Did you enjoy? ;)

I downloaded the Visualizer, and have been playing around with the thing on and off all day. It's kind of fun dragging different songs over to the program and watching what interesting things it creates.

Oh my yes! My bad to not come back and tell you... I meant to copy the link then open it in a different window. (I hate that about LJ...links should automatically open in different windows.)

I loved the commentary that showed on a few of them, especially Beethoven ("Asses!").

This reminded me of watching Disney's orchestral specials with Jiminy Cricket many moons ago (yeah I'm dating myself here). I loved the way they split the orchestra sounds up to teach you the 'job' of the different sections, then illustrated it in a story.

What a note of poignancy to watch these colored notes carrying on a conversation within the songs, certain notes running to catch up with others or staying in the background and poking through the melody, as it were.

I bet that Visualizer is fun! What songs have you been trying out?

That Smalin person is very music-savvy. I was also super amused and impressed by their knowledge.

Oh my goodness. I actually remember some of those Jiminy Cricket specials. Or at least, I think I remember some specials like that. The ones with the three caballeros (the one with Donald Duck and the two parrots) were especially adored during my childhood.

I think you nailed it on the head, Rose! And described what makes the video so fascinating perfectly. They really are like "conversations", aren't they? So far I've just been plugging whatever free MIDI files I can get my hands on over the internet. It's really interesting seeing how familiar songs are suddenly become so different.

At any rate, I'm glad you enjoyed it too. <3

You find the neatest things.

I liked his composition/arrangement of Scarborough Fair.

I'm glad you think it's neat, Laurinha. I actually had you in mind when I posted this. While looking through the videos, I thought: "Ah! Now this is something Laurinha might enjoy too."

Especially since you liked the one about the music and the planets a while back.
