Sun rose, soft rays landed and my heart thumped against yours,
Restless, too poignant,
I knew, but you didn’t,
You’re going to speak of something uncertain that I knew just by looking into your searching eyes.
With ever so quietly your voice began to resonate through,
You said you would take just a little while,
A pause, a momentary stop,
From all those cruel whispers your mind couldn’t take of more,
And that I would find myself beside you the moment I opened my blinked eyes, you promised.
I felt tears on my shoulders, a moment after,
I wanted to see your face but you stopped me, an embrace followed,
Just a little while longer, this time you whispered,
And we went silent under the falling rain,
With both hands tremble as you embraced me tighter,
I stood still, tears halted.
I won’t cry, never to drop a single tear as I promised you before you went away,
So forgive me when this frail heart of mine defied that promise,
And just let it cried a little while longer.
Sun rose once more,
And I woke up to this morning,
With cold hands still searching for you,
Thinking that I could reach out,
While chanting that you would be there,
And the sun set, with my eyes have still seen nothing but lies.
A little while longer, a little while longer, I chanted this time as I let my heart to cry of you.
Living my life a day after another,
Blank and empty,
I heard your whispers again today,
Saying I had just to wait a moment longer,
And that I could endure everything those hasty whispers shouted of why I should never have a faith for you,
I can’t even move a mere step further and my crumbling form struggled to stop your scent from failing away,
You have to come back,
And I’ll wait just a little longer.
Once more the sun rose and later set,
Blinked eyes have gone and you aren’t here as I stand idly,
And still here at the empty place you have left,
I listen to your voice asking me to wait a little while longer,
But you do know I can’t wait forever, do you?
Because the rain is falling heavy,
And I’m cold, trying to search your beautiful warmth that now fades.
So let me cry today, once again,
Because of my heart that has been one that is embraced by the wounds of past,
Because I feel so much pain and my tears seep through my two hands,
Because it hurts more and waiting for you makes me tired,
And because of that one and only love that I’ve been waiting for becomes more distant and the promises seem so far away, making me to grasp nothing but a ghost of past,
I choose to be someone who can never have you,
Yet loving you, just a little while longer,
Yes, just a little while longer,
Until you come back, and my eyes will never see lies again.
