Well, if that just isn't the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard. How moronic are the people running this place?

I. I. I. I can't even. Just -- God, I hope the folks at NCMEC have enough sense that they hurt themselves laughing if LJ reported the fanartists. Probably not, though. :\

Would we be having this conversation if HP hadn't been made into a movie?

I've been wondering this for a while now. Or, more generally, I've been wondering what HP fanart would be like if there weren't a movie that gave us a very definite appearance for everyone. I mean, you can say, "I drew this based on the descriptions in the book, not on the actors, because I don't like the casting," but there will probably still be a similarity, just because Daniel Radcliffe as Harry is everywhere, and it's going to sink it whether or not you want it to. And, really, he does look quite a bit like the Harry on the bookcovers.

And, just a thought I figured I'd throw out there: Dan Radcliffe was born in 89, so he's legal now. How would that change things, since we're looking at an adult playing the role of a child.

What is the age of consent in England? Does anyone know? In PA it's 16.

I was thinking about that on the bus. That happens all the time, in every country, in television and film. Eliza Dushku was 17, and Nicholas Brendon was 27 when they filmed the episode of Buffy where Faith and Xander have sex. Does LJ think Joss Whedon and Nicholas Brendon should be arrested? Is it ok to post fanfic about that episode?

Another question: Would I get ToS'd if I retyped pages of Lolita in my LJ? What if I linked or embedded clips from the movie, which never shows any sexual acts but implies the relationship?
