I think the bailout is a bunch of bullshit. It's like having a leaky damn and telling the taxpayers to go stand there with their fingers in the holes to stave off impending doom.

Those financial institutions made bad investments. They encouraged people to buy things they really couldn't afford. Now that it's time to pay the piper, if anyone should get a handout, it's the people who've been swindled by the greed of the industry. How about bailing out the people who can't pay their mortgage?

Oh, I'm with you on that! I don't think it's right that the businesses are getting the bailout and not the homeowners.

But I'm just suspicious of political grandstanding. Already the GOP are doing some fingerpointing and blaming Nancy Pelosi for the defeat. (insert eyeroll here)

Maybe now's a good time to, uh, clean House.

this is evidence they actually do listen to the their constituents since they ignored the big business lobbyists that wanted the bail out.
