I heard on NPR that the Palin choice was less about wooing Hilary supporters than shoring up McCain's appeal to conservative voters. A lot of conservative women, in particular, feel that Palin is "one of us" and really like her. And her staunch pro-life stance comes as a relief to those conservatives who were worried he might pick the pro-choice Lieberman or the always controversial Rudi Gulliani.
