I made a left from Brint to McCord to pull into my driveway, and there was a little boy, about 10 years old, walking across the driveway, but he was looking behind him and not paying attention to the cars, so I had to stop.
Lady in a Prius came around the corner right on my backside (I suspect she did a rolling stop before turning right onto McCord) and of course I stopped so as not to hit the child. She did not...but she was only going on impulse power when she hit me.
It was bound to happen sooner or later....we've had a lot of close calls in the five years we've been here. I'm just glad it wasn't one of the local teenagers who don't stop at the stop sign AT ALL who came whipping around the corner. It would have been ugly.

though that could also explain the way some people drive.

I was rear-ended pulling into my own driveway yesterday.

car not badly damaged? No whiplash or such?
three - four years ago I was backing out of my drive way; road way was clear, no traffic either north or south.
Just not aware that the teenager across the street also was backing out at the same moment.
Met in the middle.
